Helen has over 20 years’ experience working within the banking, investment, fund, and trust and company sectors of the finance industry. She trained with one of the large accountancy firms, undertaking audit and advisory services across Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man, as well as investigatory work on behalf of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) and a global central securities clearing house.
Helen subsequently worked for 6 years with the JFSC in their Enforcement and Policy Divisions, focusing primarily on anti-money laundering measures (AML/CFT), and in supporting the JFSC’s work to achieve and maintain equivalence with international standards for AML/CFT and financial regulation.
In 2007, Helen joined an international banking and financial services group initially as Head of Internal Audit for its offshore group, before moving to the group’s fund business and later its investment business. She held the role of director for regulated fund management and investment businesses, as well as Jersey collective investment funds, with particular responsibility for the businesses’ operational environment and regulatory compliance framework.
Helen uses all of her technical expertise and practical experience to formulate effective solutions for Cyan’s clients. She is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, a chartered wealth manager with the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investments and a member of the Jersey Compliance Officers Association. Helen also holds the Prince2 Practitioner qualification in change management.
